Ajmer is known for the Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti. The Dargah is one of the holiest places in India and is called the Madina of India. It is a fact that Khawaja Moinuddin Chistiís blessings are dependable. The devotees, who want to make a wish, tie a thread in the Dargah and after the fulfilment of their wish; go back to the Dargah to untie the thread. Devotees flock the Dargah every year for the annual festival or Urs. There are moderately priced, decent hotels near the Dargah, where you can stay. For those who want moderately charged hotels, RTDC hotels, are also very good. The Taragarh fort is another attraction of Ajmer. This fort is at the foot of a horse shope shaped hill. It has many water reservoirs inside it the steep and high walls of the fort must have been impregnable in the past. Bhim burj is a wall of the fort, on which lies a famous canon. The fort is approached by a steep road and the entrance gate of the fort is huge. The view from the top of the fort is breath-taking at any time of the day. It is especially beautiful at sunset. People of all faiths visit the Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti and in recent times the security in the dargah has been tightened and photography is not allowed. There is no unnecessary inspection of the devotees in the dargah.
