The town of Haldighati has become famous because of the brave and heroic deeds of Maha Rana Pratap. It is one of the most battlefields of Rajasthan; it was where the historic battle between Maha Rana Pratap and Emperor Akbar was faught in 1576.
I had heard a lot about the museum of Haldighati. It has illustrations of the life of Maha Rana Pratap with the help of statues and voice overs. The weapons that were used by the soldiers of Maha Rana Pratap, the armor of the Chetak horse are also displayed here.
The Chetak horse was known to be very devout to his master and he saved his master’s life at the cost of his own. The name of this town has been kept because of the yellowish color of the soil found here. I had good time looking around the museum but I felt really bad for the horse. I took photographs of the statues. The statues are made up of bronze and are beautifully carved.
As a tourist I was happy to visit this place but there is nothing much in Haldighati to visit except the memorial. However if you are to visit Kumbhalgarh or Udaipur then Haldighati is quite near to both of them and you may enjoy a stop here.
