Rajasthani delicacies are delicious and yummy. Some of the Rajasthani dishes which should not be missed are dal bhati, kachori and gatta.
Some of the things about Jaisalmer, which should not be missed, are Sonar killa, havelis and palaces. There are lovely rajasthani folk dances, performed near the sand dunes and at many other places. These dances and the folk music are exquisite and wonderful.
The culture of the city is intact and thus when we visit this city we feel that we have gone back in time. I had been to Jaisalmer with my family. We visited the small and gorgeous fort, which is not as magnificent as Jodhpur’s Meherangarh fort, but all the same is a monument in itself. We also visited the old Jain temples.
There is also the Palace museum, which should be improved, as it can look and be a lot better. There are a lot of people who live inside the fort, so the fort is a little dirty, but moving around the fort is a treat in itself. You can move inside the fort in a rickshaw, but I would suggest that you should walk inside the fort and explore it. This is because; you will get a feeling of living inside the fort, if you walk inside it.
Our next stop was the Patwon ki haveli, which is built in yellow sandstone. These are five havelis, built by a jain family and the carvings made in the yellow sandstone here, are amazing.
